In 2013, Ionplus was incorporated as a spin-off company by the Laboratory of Ion Beam Physics at ETH Zurich. Based on the research conducted for many years at the Laboratory of Ion Beam Physics, Ionplus develops, builds and distributes innovative instruments for radiocarbon sample preparation and measurements.
Ionplus offers fully automated graphitization systems, gas interface systems, automated carbonate handling systems, pneumatic sample presses and vacuum lines for sealing tubes and a range of accessories for all products. The goal for these products is to achieve a high degree of automation and versatility, as well as to implement compact and user-friendly designs. The new flagship product of Ionplus is the MICADAS, a 200 kV AMS system developed at the Laboratory of Ion Beam Physics (LIP) at ETH Zurich.
