Landscape evolution

We combine detailed field mapping with use of cosmogenic 10Be, in situ 14C, 26Al and 36Cl produced in rocks and sediment exposed to cosmic rays to understand the fundamental geomorphological processes that change our landscape. Special focus is on the European Alps and the forelands. An exceptional highlight at Ion Beam Physics is the in-house built extraction line for gaining in situ 14C from quartz.
